nouveau_bo_init() is backed by ttm_bo_init() and ferries its return code
back to the caller. On failures, ttm_bo_init() invokes the provided
destructor which should de-initialize and free the memory.
Thus, when nouveau_bo_init() returns an error the gem object has already
been released and the memory freed by nouveau_bo_del_ttm().

Recent rework, which made HDMI PHY driver a platform device, inadvertely
reversed clock setup order. HW is very touchy about it. Proper way is to
handle controllers resets and clocks first and HDMI PHYs second.
Currently, without this fix, first mode set completely fails (nothing on
HDMI monitor) on H3 era PHYs. On H6, it still somehow work.
Move HDMI PHY reset & clocks handling to sun8i_hdmi_phy_init() which
will assure that code is executed after controllers reset & clocks are
handled. Additionally, add sun8i_hdmi_phy_deinit() which will deinit
them at controllers driver unload.
Tested on A64, H3, H6 and R40.

Currently we blow up in trace_dma_fence_init, when calling into
get_driver_name or get_timeline_name, since both the engine and context
might be NULL(or contain some garbage address) in the case of newly
allocated slab objects via the request ctor. Note that we also use
SLAB_TYPESAFE_BY_RCU here, which allows requests to be immediately
freed, but delay freeing the underlying page by an RCU grace period.
With this scheme requests can be re-allocated, at the same time as they
are also being read by some lockless RCU lookup mechanism.
In the ctor case, which is only called for new slab objects(i.e allocate
new page and call the ctor for each object) it's safe to reset the
context/engine prior to calling into dma_fence_init, since we can be
certain that no one is doing an RCU lookup which might depend on peeking
at the engine/context, like in active_engine(), since the object can't
yet be externally visible.
In the recycled case(which might also be externally visible) the request
refcount always transitions from 0->1 after we set the context/engine
etc, which should ensure it's valid to dereference the engine for
example, when doing an RCU list-walk, so long as we can also increment
the refcount first. If the refcount is already zero, then the request is
considered complete/released. If it's non-zero, then the request might
be in the process of being re-allocated, or potentially still in flight,
however after successfully incrementing the refcount, it's possible to
carefully inspect the request state, to determine if the request is
still what we were looking for. Note that all externally visible
requests returned to the cache must have zero refcount.
One possible fix then is to move dma_fence_init out from the request
ctor. Originally this was how it was done, but it was moved in:
commit 855e39e65c
Author: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>
Date: Mon Feb 3 09:41:48 2020 +0000
drm/i915: Initialise basic fence before acquiring seqno
where it looks like intel_timeline_get_seqno() relied on some of the
rq->fence state, but that is no longer the case since:
commit 12ca695d2c1ed26b2dcbb528b42813bd0f216cfc
Author: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com>
Date: Tue Mar 23 16:49:50 2021 +0100
drm/i915: Do not share hwsp across contexts any more, v8.
intel_timeline_get_seqno() could also be cleaned up slightly by dropping
the request argument.
Moving dma_fence_init back out of the ctor, should ensure we have enough
of the request initialised in case of trace_dma_fence_init.
Functionally this should be the same, and is effectively what we were
already open coding before, except now we also assign the fence->lock
and fence->ops, but since these are invariant for recycled
requests(which might be externally visible), and will therefore already
hold the same value, it shouldn't matter.
An alternative fix, since we don't yet have a fully initialised request
when in the ctor, is just setting the context/engine as NULL, but this
does require adding some extra handling in get_driver_name etc.

list_sort() internally casts the comparison function passed to it
to a different type with constant struct list_head pointers, and
uses this pointer to call the functions, which trips indirect call
Control-Flow Integrity (CFI) checking.
Instead of removing the consts, this change defines the
list_cmp_func_t type and changes the comparison function types of
all list_sort() callers to use const pointers, thus avoiding type
mismatches.

commit ab39d3cef526ba09c4c6923b4cd7e6ec1c5d4faa upstream.
Update the current state as boot state during dpm initialization.
During the subsequent initialization, set_power_state gets called to
transition to the final power state. set_power_state refers to values
from the current state and without current state populated, it could
result in NULL pointer dereference.
For ex: on platforms where PCI speed change is supported through ACPI
ATCS method, the link speed of current state needs to be queried before
deciding on changing to final power state's link speed. The logic to query
ATCS-support was broken on certain platforms. The issue became visible
when broken ATCS-support logic got fixed with commit
f9b7f3703ff9 ("drm/amdgpu/acpi: make ATPX/ATCS structures global (v2)").

commit b5fab345654c603c07525100d744498f28786929 upstream.
In lock_region, simplify the calculation of the region_width parameter.
This field is the size, but encoded as ceil(log2(size)) - 1.
ceil(log2(size)) may be computed directly as fls(size - 1). However, we
want to use the 64-bit versions as the amount to lock can exceed
32-bits.
This avoids undefined (and completely wrong) behaviour when locking all
memory (size ~0). In this case, the old code would "round up" ~0 to the
nearest page, overflowing to 0. Since fls(0) == 0, this would calculate
a region width of 10 + 0 = 10. But then the code would shift by
(region_width - 11) = -1. As shifting by a negative number is undefined,
UBSAN flags the bug. Of course, even if it were defined the behaviour is
wrong, instead of locking all memory almost none would get locked.
The new form of the calculation corrects this special case and avoids
the undefined behaviour.

the process did not terminate properly, or because it didn't wait for
all GPU jobs to be finished), and apparently panfrost_job_close() does
not cancel already running jobs. Let's refcount the MMU context object
so it's lifetime is no longer bound to the FD lifetime and running jobs
can finish properly without generating spurious page faults.

Commit 2f015ec6ea ("drm/dp_mst: Add sideband down request tracing +
selftests") added some debug code for sideband message tracing. But
it seems to have unintentionally changed the behavior on sideband message
failure. It catches and returns failure only if DRM_UT_DP is enabled.
Otherwise it ignores the error code and returns success. So on an MST
unplug, the caller is unaware that the clear payload message failed and
ends up waiting for 4 seconds for the response. Fixes the issue by
returning the proper error code.

Put the clock-selection code into each of the PLL-update functions to
make them select the correct pixel clock. Instead of copying the code,
introduce a new helper WREG_MISC_MASKED, which does masked writes into

The pixel clock for video output was not actually set before programming
the clock's values. It worked because the device had the correct clock

[ 94.023404] Console: switching to colour dummy device 80x25
root@xilinx-zynqmp:~# insmod zynqmp-dpsub.ko
<hang here>
This is because that in zynqmp_dp_probe it tries to access some DP
registers while the DP controller is still in the reset state. When
running "rmmod zynqmp_dpsub", zynqmp_dp_reset(dp, true) in
zynqmp_dp_phy_exit is called to force the DP controller into the reset
state. Then insmod will call zynqmp_dp_probe to program the DP registers,
but at this moment the DP controller hasn't been brought out of the reset
state yet since the function zynqmp_dp_reset(dp, false) is called later and
this will result the system hang.
Releasing the reset to DP controller before any read/write operation to it
will fix this issue. And for symmetry, move zynqmp_dp_reset() call from
zynqmp_dp_phy_exit() to zynqmp_dp_remove().

The Runtime PM subsystem will force the device "fd4a0000.zynqmp-display"
to enter suspend state while booting if the following conditions are met:
- the usage counter is zero (pm_runtime_get_sync hasn't been called yet)
- no 'active' children (no zynqmp-dp-snd-xx node under dpsub node)
- no other device in the same power domain (dpdma node has no
"power-domains = <&zynqmp_firmware PD_DP>" property)
So there is a scenario as below:
1) DP device enters suspend state <- call zynqmp_gpd_power_off
2) zynqmp_disp_crtc_setup_clock <- configurate register VPLL_FRAC_CFG
3) pm_runtime_get_sync <- call zynqmp_gpd_power_on and clear previous
VPLL_FRAC_CFG configuration
4) clk_prepare_enable(disp->pclk) <- enable failed since VPLL_FRAC_CFG
configuration is corrupted
From above, we can see that pm_runtime_get_sync may clear register
VPLL_FRAC_CFG configuration and result the failure of clk enabling.
Putting pm_runtime_get_sync at the very beginning of the function
zynqmp_disp_crtc_atomic_enable can resolve this issue.

multiplication in

As iMX8 is arm64, this driver is currently used on 64-bit platforms

start to happen when the driver is reused for a 32-bit SoC (e.g.

drm_file->master pointers should be protected by
drm_device.master_mutex or drm_file.master_lookup_lock when being
dereferenced.
However, in drm_lease.c, there are multiple instances where
drm_file->master is accessed and dereferenced while neither lock is
held. This makes drm_lease.c vulnerable to use-after-free bugs.
We address this issue in 2 ways:
1. Add a new drm_file_get_master() function that calls drm_master_get
on drm_file->master while holding on to
drm_file.master_lookup_lock. Since drm_master_get increments the
reference count of master, this prevents master from being freed until
we unreference it with drm_master_put.
2. In each case where drm_file->master is directly accessed and
eventually dereferenced in drm_lease.c, we wrap the access in a call
to the new drm_file_get_master function, then unreference the master
pointer once we are done using it.

Currently, drm_file.master pointers should be protected by
drm_device.master_mutex when being dereferenced. This is because
drm_file.master is not invariant for the lifetime of drm_file. If
drm_file is not the creator of master, then drm_file.is_master is
false, and a call to drm_setmaster_ioctl will invoke
drm_new_set_master, which then allocates a new master for drm_file and
puts the old master.
Thus, without holding drm_device.master_mutex, the old value of
drm_file.master could be freed while it is being used by another
concurrent process.
However, it is not always possible to lock drm_device.master_mutex to
dereference drm_file.master. Through the fbdev emulation code, this
might occur in a deep nest of other locks. But drm_device.master_mutex
is also the outermost lock in the nesting hierarchy, so this leads to
potential deadlocks.
To address this, we introduce a new spin lock at the bottom of the
lock hierarchy that only serializes drm_file.master. With this change,
the value of drm_file.master changes only when both
drm_device.master_mutex and drm_file.master_lookup_lock are
held. Hence, any process holding either of those locks can ensure that
the value of drm_file.master will not change concurrently.
Since no lock depends on the new drm_file.master_lookup_lock, when
drm_file.master is dereferenced, but drm_device.master_mutex cannot be
held, we can safely protect the master pointer with
drm_file.master_lookup_lock.

Inside drm_clients_info, the rcu_read_lock is held to lock
pid_task()->comm. However, within this protected section, a call to
drm_is_current_master is made, which involves a mutex lock in a future
patch. However, this is illegal because the mutex lock might block

Since drm_is_current_master isn't protected by rcu_read_lock, we avoid
this by moving it out of the RCU critical section.

'of_find_device_by_node()' takes a reference that must be released when
not needed anymore.
This is expected to be done in 'dsi_destroy()'.
However, there are 2 issues in 'dsi_get_phy()'.
First, if 'of_find_device_by_node()' succeeds but 'platform_get_drvdata()'
returns NULL, 'msm_dsi->phy_dev' will still be NULL, and the reference
won't be released in 'dsi_destroy()'.
Secondly, as 'of_find_device_by_node()' already takes a reference, there is
no need for an additional 'get_device()'.
Move the assignment to 'msm_dsi->phy_dev' a few lines above and remove the
unneeded 'get_device()' to solve both issues.

In case the DRAM is under high load, the MXSFB FIFO might underflow
and that causes visible artifacts. This could be triggered on i.MX8MM
using e.g. "$ memtester 128M" on a device with 1920x1080 panel. The
first "Stuck Address" test of the memtester will completely corrupt
the image on the panel and leave the MXSFB FIFO in odd state.
To avoid this underflow, increase number of outstanding requests to
DRAM from 2 to 16, which is the maximum. This mitigates the issue
and it can no longer be triggered.

There is some sort of corner case behavior of the controller,
which could rarely be triggered at least on i.MX6SX connected
to 800x480 DPI panel and i.MX8MM connected to DPI->DSI->LVDS
bridged 1920x1080 panel (and likely on other setups too), where
the image on the panel shifts to the right and wraps around.
This happens either when the controller is enabled on boot or
even later during run time. The condition does not correct
itself automatically, i.e. the display image remains shifted.
It seems this problem is known and is due to sporadic underflows
of the LCDIF FIFO. While the LCDIF IP does have underflow/overflow
IRQs, neither of the IRQs trigger and neither IRQ status bit is
asserted when this condition occurs.
All known revisions of the LCDIF IP have CTRL1 RECOVER_ON_UNDERFLOW
bit, which is described in the reference manual since i.MX23 as
"
Set this bit to enable the LCDIF block to recover in the next
field/frame if there was an underflow in the current field/frame.
"
Enable this bit to mitigate the sporadic underflows.

[Why]
Userspace should get back a copy of drm_wait_vblank that's been modified
even when drm_wait_vblank_ioctl returns a failure.
Rationale:
drm_wait_vblank_ioctl modifies the request and expects the user to read
it back. When the type is RELATIVE, it modifies it to ABSOLUTE and updates
the sequence to become current_vblank_count + sequence (which was
RELATIVE), but now it became ABSOLUTE.
drmWaitVBlank (in libdrm) expects this to be the case as it modifies
the request to be Absolute so it expects the sequence to would have been
updated.
The change is in compat_drm_wait_vblank, which is called by
drm_compat_ioctl. This change of copying the data back regardless of the
return number makes it en par with drm_ioctl, which always copies the
data before returning.
[How]
Return from the function after everything has been copied to user.

schedule_delayed_work does not push back the work if it was already
scheduled before, so amdgpu_device_delay_enable_gfx_off ran ~100 ms
after the first time GFXOFF was disabled and re-enabled, even if GFXOFF
was disabled and re-enabled again during those 100 ms.
This resulted in frame drops / stutter with the upcoming mutter 41
release on Navi 14, due to constantly enabling GFXOFF in the HW and
disabling it again (for getting the GPU clock counter).
To fix this, call cancel_delayed_work_sync when the disable count
transitions from 0 to 1, and only schedule the delayed work on the
reverse transition, not if the disable count was already 0. This makes
sure the delayed work doesn't run at unexpected times, and allows it to
be lock-free.

[Why]
Vertical and horizontal borders in timings are treated as increasing the
active area - vblank and hblank actually shrink.
Our input into DML does not include these borders so it incorrectly
assumes it has more time than available for vstartup and tmdl
calculations for some modes with borders.
An example of such a timing would be 640x480@72Hz:
h_total: 832
h_border_left: 8
h_addressable: 640
h_border_right: 8
h_front_porch: 16
h_sync_width: 40
v_total: 520
v_border_top: 8
v_addressable: 480
v_border_bottom: 8
v_front_porch: 1
v_sync_width: 3
pix_clk_100hz: 315000
[How]
Include borders as part of destination vactive/hactive.
This change DCN20+ so it has wide impact, but the destination vactive
and hactive are only really used for vstartup calculation anyway.
Most modes do not have vertical or horizontal borders.

commit 3761baae908a7b5012be08d70fa553cc2eb82305 upstream.
This reverts commit 9e31c1fe45. Ever
since that commit, we've been having issues where a hang in one client
can propagate to another. In particular, a hang in an app can propagate
to the X server which causes the whole desktop to lock up.
Error propagation along fences sound like a good idea, but as your bug
shows, surprising consequences, since propagating errors across security
boundaries is not a good thing.
What we do have is track the hangs on the ctx, and report information to
userspace using RESET_STATS. That's how arb_robustness works. Also, if my
understanding is still correct, the EIO from execbuf is when your context
is banned (because not recoverable or too many hangs). And in all these
cases it's up to userspace to figure out what is all impacted and should
be reported to the application, that's not on the kernel to guess and
automatically propagate.
What's more, we're also building more features on top of ctx error
reporting with RESET_STATS ioctl: Encrypted buffers use the same, and the
userspace fence wait also relies on that mechanism. So it is the path
going forward for reporting gpu hangs and resets to userspace.
So all together that's why I think we should just bury this idea again as
not quite the direction we want to go to, hence why I think the revert is
the right option here.

commit c9d9fdbc108af8915d3f497bbdf3898bf8f321b8 upstream.
This reverts 686c7c35ab ("drm/i915/gem: Asynchronous cmdparser"). The
justification for this commit in the git history was a vague comment
about getting it out from under the struct_mutex. While this may
improve perf for some workloads on Gen7 platforms where we rely on the
command parser for features such as indirect rendering, no numbers were
provided to prove such an improvement. It claims to closed two
gitlab/bugzilla issues but with no explanation whatsoever as to why or
what bug it's fixing.
Meanwhile, by moving command parsing off to an async callback, it leaves
us with a problem of what to do on error. When things were synchronous,
EXECBUFFER2 would fail with an error code if parsing failed. When
moving it to async, we needed another way to handle that error and the
solution employed was to set an error on the dma_fence and then trust
that said error gets propagated to the client eventually. Moving back
to synchronous will help us untangle the fence error propagation mess.
This also reverts most of 0edbb9ba1bfe ("drm/i915: Move cmd parser
pinning to execbuffer") which is a refactor of some of our allocation
paths for asynchronous parsing. Now that everything is synchronous, we
don't need it.

commit d47255d3f87338164762ac56df1f28d751e27246 upstream.
This reverts commit 4192f7b576.
It is not true (as stated in the reverted commit changelog) that we never
unmap the BAR on failure; it actually does happen properly on
amdgpu_driver_load_kms() -> amdgpu_driver_unload_kms() ->
amdgpu_device_fini() error path.
What's worse, this commit actually completely breaks resource freeing on
probe failure (like e.g. failure to load microcode), as
amdgpu_driver_unload_kms() notices adev->rmmio being NULL and bails too
early, leaving all the resources that'd normally be freed in
amdgpu_acpi_fini() and amdgpu_device_fini() still hanging around, leading
to all sorts of oopses when someone tries to, for example, access the
sysfs and procfs resources which are still around while the driver is
gone.

commit 6aade587d329ebe88319dfdb8e8c7b6aede80417 upstream.
In case when psp_init_asd_microcode() fails to load ASD microcode file,
psp_v12_0_init_microcode() tries to print the firmware filename that
failed to load before bailing out.
This is wrong because:
- the firmware filename it would want it print is an incorrect one as
psp_init_asd_microcode() and psp_v12_0_init_microcode() are loading
different filenames
- it tries to print fw_name, but that's not yet been initialized by that
time, so it prints random stack contents, e.g.
amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: Direct firmware load for amdgpu/renoir_asd.bin failed with error -2
amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: amdgpu: fail to initialize asd microcode
amdgpu 0000:04:00.0: amdgpu: psp v12.0: Failed to load firmware "\xfeTO\x8e\xff\xff"
Fix that by bailing out immediately, instead of priting the bogus error
message.

commit c90b4503ccf42d9d367e843c223df44aa550e82a upstream.
d3_entered flag is used to mark for vgpu_reset a previous power
transition from D3->D0, typically for VM resume from S3, so that gvt
could skip PPGTT invalidation in current vgpu_reset during resuming.
In case S0ix exit, although there is D3->D0, guest driver continue to
use vgpu as normal, with d3_entered set, until next shutdown/reboot or
power transition.
If a reboot follows a S0ix exit, device power state transite as:
D0->D3->D0->D0(reboot), while system power state transites as:
S0->S0 (reboot). There is no vgpu_reset until D0(reboot), thus
d3_entered won't be cleared, the vgpu_reset will skip PPGTT invalidation
however those PPGTT entries are no longer valid. Err appears like:
gvt: vgpu 2: vfio_pin_pages failed for gfn 0xxxxx, ret -22
gvt: vgpu 2: fail: spt xxxx guest entry 0xxxxx type 2
gvt: vgpu 2: fail: shadow page xxxx guest entry 0xxxxx type 2.
Give gvt a chance to clear d3_entered on elsp cmd submission so that the

commit 3769e4c0af5b82c8ea21d037013cb9564dfaa51f upstream.
[Why]
After unplug/hotplug hub from the system, userspace might start to
clear stale payloads gradually. If we call drm_dp_mst_deallocate_vcpi()
to release stale VCPI of those ports which are not relating to current
topology, we have chane to wrongly clear active payload table entry for
current topology.
E.g.
We have allocated VCPI 1 in current payload table and we call
drm_dp_mst_deallocate_vcpi() to clean VCPI 1 in stale topology. In
drm_dp_mst_deallocate_vcpi(), it will call drm_dp_mst_put_payload_id()
tp put VCPI 1 and which means ID 1 is available again. Thereafter, if we
want to allocate a new payload stream, it will find ID 1 is available by
drm_dp_mst_assign_payload_id(). However, ID 1 is being used
[How]
Check target sink is relating to current topology or not before doing
any payload table update.
Searching upward to find the target sink's relevant root branch device.
If the found root branch device is not the same root of current
topology, don't update payload table.

commit 35d3e8cb35e75450f87f87e3d314e2d418b6954b upstream.
[Why]
When we receive CSN message to notify one port is disconnected, we will
implicitly set its corresponding num_slots to 0. Later on, we will
eventually call drm_dp_update_payload_part1() to arrange down streams.
In drm_dp_update_payload_part1(), we iterate over all proposed_vcpis[]
to do the update. Not specific to a target sink only. For example, if we
light up 2 monitors, Monitor_A and Monitor_B, and then we unplug
Monitor_B. Later on, when we call drm_dp_update_payload_part1() to try
to update payload for Monitor_A, we'll also implicitly clean payload for
Monitor_B at the same time. And finally, when we try to call
drm_dp_update_payload_part1() to clean payload for Monitor_B, we will do
nothing at this time since payload for Monitor_B has been cleaned up
previously.
For StarTech 1to3 DP hub, it seems like if we didn't update DPCD payload
ID table then polling for "ACT Handled"(BIT_1 of DPCD 002C0h) will fail
and this polling will last for 3 seconds.
Therefore, guess the best way is we don't set the proposed_vcpi[]
diretly. Let user of these herlper functions to set the proposed_vcpi
directly.
[How]
1. Revert commit 7617e9621b ("drm/dp_mst: clear time slots for ports
invalid")
2. Tackle the issue in previous commit by skipping those trasient
proposed VCPIs. These stale VCPIs shoulde be explicitly cleared by
user later on.

commit 2feeb52859fc1ab94cd35b61ada3a6ac4ff24243 upstream.
The conversion to ww mutexes failed to address the fence code which
already returns -EDEADLK when we run out of fences. Ww mutexes on
the other hand treat -EDEADLK as an internal errno value indicating
a need to restart the operation due to a deadlock. So now when the
fence code returns -EDEADLK the higher level code erroneously
restarts everything instead of returning the error to userspace
as is expected.
To remedy this let's switch the fence code to use a different errno
value for this. -ENOBUFS seems like a semi-reasonable unique choice.
Apart from igt the only user of this I could find is sna, and even
there all we do is dump the current fence registers from debugfs
into the X server log. So no user visible functionality is affected.
If we really cared about preserving this we could of course convert
back to -EDEADLK higher up, but doesn't seem like that's worth
the hassle here.
Not quite sure which commit specifically broke this, but I'll
just attribute it to the general gem ww mutex work.

object pages anyway. However this might leave open a small window where
the PTEs don't point to anything valid for the HW to consume.
When for example using 2M GTT pages this fill_px() showed up as being
quite significant in perf measurements, and ends up being completely
wasted since we ignore the pt and just use the pde directly.
Anyway, currently we have our PTE construction split between alloc and
insert, which is probably slightly iffy nowadays, since the alloc
doesn't actually allocate anything anymore, instead it just sets up the
page directories and points the PTEs at the scratch page. Later when we
do the insert step we re-program the PTEs again. Better might be to
squash the alloc and insert into a single step, then bringing back this
optimisation(along with some others) should be possible.

commit cf6d100dd2 ("drm/rockchip: dsi: add dual mipi support") added
this devcnt field and call to component_del(). However, these both
appear to be erroneous changes left over from an earlier version of the
patch. In the version merged, nothing ever modifies devcnt, meaning
component_del() runs unconditionally and in addition to the
component_del() calls in dw_mipi_dsi_rockchip_host_detach(). The second
call fails to delete anything and produces a warning in dmesg.
If we look at the previous version of the patch[1], however, we see that
it had logic to calculate devcnt and call component_add() in certain
situations. This was removed in v6, and the fact that the deletion code
was not appears to have been an oversight.

While the DP specification isn't entirely clear on if this should be

commit 47a50743031ad4138050ae6d266ddd3dfe845ead upstream.
The vc4_set_crtc_possible_masks is meant to run over all the encoders
and then set their possible_crtcs mask to their associated pixelvalve.
However, since the commit 39fcb28083 ("drm/vc4: txp: Turn the TXP into
a CRTC of its own"), the TXP has been turned to a CRTC and encoder of
its own, and while it does indeed register an encoder, it no longer has
an associated pixelvalve. The code will thus run over the TXP encoder
and set a bogus possible_crtcs mask, overriding the one set in the TXP
bind function.
In order to fix this, let's skip any virtual encoder.

commit c1bfd74bfef77bcefc88d12eaf8996c0dfd51331 upstream.
On the Loongson64 platform used with Radeon GPU, shutdown or reboot failed
when console=tty is in the boot cmdline.
radeon_suspend_kms() puts the hw in the suspend state, especially set fb
state as FBINFO_STATE_SUSPENDED:
if (fbcon) {
console_lock();
radeon_fbdev_set_suspend(rdev, 1);
console_unlock();
}
Then avoid to do any more fb operations in the related functions:
if (p->state != FBINFO_STATE_RUNNING)
return;
So call radeon_suspend_kms() in radeon_pci_shutdown() for Loongson64 to fix
this issue, it looks like some kind of workaround like powerpc.

causing an FS reclaim inside the DQM lock creates a problematic circular

out of "Off" status, though not necessarily). Bridge functions are
added or changed to accommodate the ->atomic_check() callback. That
full modeset is needed by the up-coming patch which gets MIPI DSI
controller and PHY ready in ->mode_set(), because it makes sure
->mode_set() and ->atomic_disable() are called in pairs.

[ Upstream commit 43c2de1002d2b70fb5941fa14e97a34e3dc214d4 ]
When we first enable the DSI encoder, we currently program some per-chip
configuration that we look up in rk3399_chip_data based on the device
tree compatible we match. This data configures various parameters of the
MIPI lanes, including on RK3399 whether DSI1 is slaved to DSI0 in a
dual-mode configuration. It also selects which LCDC (i.e. VOP) to scan
out from.
This causes a problem in RK3399 dual-mode configurations, though: panel
prepare() callbacks run before the encoder gets enabled and expect to be
able to write commands to the DSI bus, but the bus isn't fully
functional until the lane and master/slave configuration have been
programmed. As a result, dual-mode panels (and possibly others too) fail
to turn on when the rockchipdrm driver is initially loaded.
Because the LCDC mux is the only thing we don't know until enable time
(and is the only thing that can ever change), we can actually move most
of the initialization to bind() and get it out of the way early. That's
what this change does. (Rockchip's 4.4 BSP kernel does it in mode_set(),
which also avoids the issue, but bind() seems like the more correct
place to me.)
Tested on a Google Scarlet board (Acer Chromebook Tab 10), which has a
Kingdisplay KD097D04 dual-mode panel. Prior to this change, the panel's
backlight would turn on but no image would appear when initially loading
rockchipdrm. If I kept rockchipdrm loaded and reloaded the panel driver,
it would come on. With this change, the panel successfully turns on
during initial rockchipdrm load as expected.

commit 1815d9c86e3090477fbde066ff314a7e9721ee0f upstream.
While checking the master status of the DRM file in
drm_is_current_master(), the device's master mutex should be
held. Without the mutex, the pointer fpriv->master may be freed
concurrently by another process calling drm_setmaster_ioctl(). This
could lead to use-after-free errors when the pointer is subsequently
dereferenced in drm_lease_owner().
The callers of drm_is_current_master() from drm_auth.c hold the
device's master mutex, but external callers do not. Hence, we implement
drm_is_current_master_locked() to be used within drm_auth.c, and
modify drm_is_current_master() to grab the device's master mutex
before checking the master status.

Fw_devlink code assumes that nodes that have compatible property

Update CP_PROTECT register programming based on downstream.
A6XX_PROTECT_RW is renamed to A6XX_PROTECT_NORDWR to make things aligned

Note that this required switching to use the CP_ALWAYS_ON_COUNTER as the
GMU counter is not accessible from the cmdstream. Which also means
using the CPU counter for the msm_gpu_submit_flush() tracepoint (as
catapult depends on being able to compare this to the start/end values
captured in cmdstream). This may need to be revisited when IFPC is
enabled.
Also, compared to downstream, this opens up CP_PERFCTR_CP_SEL as the
userspace performance tooling (fdperf and pps-producer) expect to be
able to configure the CP counters.

The calclulation of how many bytes we stuff into the
DSI pipeline for video mode panels is off by three
orders of magnitude because we did not account for the
fact that the DRM mode clock is in kilohertz rather
than hertz.
This used to be:
drm_mode_vrefresh(mode) * mode->htotal * mode->vtotal
which would become for example for s6e63m0:
60 x 514 x 831 = 25628040 Hz, but mode->clock is
25628 as it is in kHz.
This affects only the Samsung GT-I8190 "Golden" phone
right now since it is the only MCDE device with a video
mode display.
Curiously some specimen work with this code and wild
settings in the EOL and empty packets at the end of the
display, but I have noticed an eeire flicker until now.

commit c336a5ee984708db4826ef9e47d184e638e29717 upstream.
This patch eliminates the following smatch warning:
drivers/gpu/drm/drm_auth.c:320 drm_master_release() warn: unlocked access 'master' (line 318) expected lock '&dev->master_mutex'
The 'file_priv->master' field should be protected by the mutex lock to
'&dev->master_mutex'. This is because other processes can concurrently
modify this field and free the current 'file_priv->master'
pointer. This could result in a use-after-free error when 'master' is
dereferenced in subsequent function calls to
'drm_legacy_lock_master_cleanup()' or to 'drm_lease_revoke()'.
An example of a scenario that would produce this error can be seen
from a similar bug in 'drm_getunique()' that was reported by Syzbot:

commit b436acd1cf7fac0ba987abd22955d98025c80c2b upstream.
There is a time-of-check-to-time-of-use error in drm_getunique() due
to retrieving file_priv->master prior to locking the device's master
mutex.
An example can be seen in the crash report of the use-after-free error
found by Syzbot:
https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?id=148d2f1dfac64af52ffd27b661981a540724f803
In the report, the master pointer was used after being freed. This is
because another process had acquired the device's master mutex in
drm_setmaster_ioctl(), then overwrote fpriv->master in
drm_new_set_master(). The old value of fpriv->master was subsequently
freed before the mutex was unlocked.
To fix this, we lock the device's master mutex before retrieving the
pointer from from fpriv->master. This patch passes the Syzbot
reproducer test.

[ Upstream commit 16e9b3e58bc3fce7391539e0eb3fd167cbf9951f ]
Our driver supports overlay planes, and as expected, some userspace
compositor takes advantage of these features. If the userspace is not
enabling the cursor, they can use multiple planes as they please.
Nevertheless, we start to have constraints when userspace tries to
enable hardware cursor with various planes. Basically, we cannot draw
the cursor at the same size and position on two separated pipes since it
uses extra bandwidth and DML only run with one cursor.
For those reasons, when we enable hardware cursor and multiple planes,
our driver should accept variations like the ones described below:
+-------------+ +--------------+
| +---------+ | | |
| |Primary | | | Primary |
| | | | | Overlay |
| +---------+ | | |
|Overlay | | |
+-------------+ +--------------+
In this scenario, we can have the desktop UI in the overlay and some
other framebuffer attached to the primary plane (e.g., video). However,
userspace needs to obey some rules and avoid scenarios like the ones
described below (when enabling hw cursor):
+--------+
|Overlay |
+-------------+ +-----+-------+ +-| |--+
| +--------+ | +--------+ | | +--------+ |
| |Overlay | | |Overlay | | | |
| | | | | | | | |
| +--------+ | +--------+ | | |
| Primary | | Primary | | Primary |
+-------------+ +-------------+ +-------------+
+-------------+ +-------------+
| +--------+ | Primary |
| |Overlay | | |
| | | | |
| +--------+ | +--------+ |
| Primary | | |Overlay | |
+-------------+ +-| |--+
+--------+
If the userspace violates some of the above scenarios, our driver needs
to reject the commit; otherwise, we can have unexpected behavior. Since
we don't have a proper driver validation for the above case, we can see
some problems like a duplicate cursor in applications that use multiple
planes. This commit fixes the cursor issue and others by adding adequate
verification for multiple planes.
Change since V1 (Harry and Sean):
- Remove cursor verification from the equation.

commit fec4d42724a1bf3dcba52307e55375fdb967b852 upstream.
intel_dp_check_mst_status() uses a 14-byte array to read the DPRX Event
Status Indicator data, but then passes that buffer at offset 10 off as
an argument to drm_dp_channel_eq_ok().
End result: there are only 4 bytes remaining of the buffer, yet
drm_dp_channel_eq_ok() wants a 6-byte buffer. gcc-11 correctly warns
about this case:
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/display/intel_dp.c: In function ‘intel_dp_check_mst_status’:

This commit just extends the original array by 2 zero-initialized bytes,
avoiding the warning.
There may be some underlying bug in here that caused this confusion, but
this is at least no worse than the existing situation that could use
random data off the stack.

commit ea995218dddba171fecd05496c69617c5ef3c5b8 upstream.
Our code analyzer reported a double free bug.
In gen8_preallocate_top_level_pdp, pde and pde->pt.base are allocated
via alloc_pd(vm) with one reference. If pin_pt_dma() failed, pde->pt.base
is freed by i915_gem_object_put() with a reference dropped. Then free_pd
calls free_px() defined in intel_ppgtt.c, which calls i915_gem_object_put()
to put pde->pt.base again.
As pde->pt.base is protected by refcount, so the second put will not free
pde->pt.base actually. But, maybe it is better to remove the first put?

commit 227545b9a08c68778ddd89428f99c351fc9315ac upstream.
Screen flickers rapidly when two 4K 60Hz monitors are in use. This issue
doesn't happen when one monitor is 4K 60Hz (pixelclock 594MHz) and
another one is 4K 30Hz (pixelclock 297MHz).
The issue is gone after setting "power_dpm_force_performance_level" to
"high". Following the indication, we found that the issue occurs when
sclk is too low.
So resolve the issue by disabling sclk switching when there are two
monitors requires high pixelclock (> 297MHz).

The buffer of SA bo will be used by many cases. So it's better
to invalidate the cache of indirect buffer allocated by SA before
commit the IB.

[why]
the current implementation of hdcp2 rx id list validation does not
have handler/checker for invalid message status, e.g. HMAC, the V
parameter calculated from PSP not matching the V prime from Rx.
[how]
return a generic FAILURE for any message status not SUCCESS or
REVOKED.

[Why]
Underflow observed when disabling PIP overlay in-game when
vsync is disabled, due to OTC master lock not working with
game pipe which is immediate flip.
[How]
When performing a full update, override flip_immediate value
to false for all planes, so that flip occurs on vsync.

The intel_gvt_init_vgpu_type_groups() function is only called from
intel_gvt_init_device(). If it fails then the intel_gvt_init_device()
prints the error code and propagates it back again. That's a bug
because false is zero/success. The fix is to modify it to return zero
or negative error codes and make everything consistent.

Partially fixes: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=212311
as dcn20_resource_construct() also calls into SMU functions which does
mutex_lock().
